Today I am reviewing my journal and looking for the themes that God has been speaking to me, prior to this second cancer journey with Laina. When we look back like this, we can see that God indeed is Omniscient (All Knowing) and Sovereign over all. I'm writing this for my own personal processing of this trial we are going through. But I'm also writing that whoever reads this may benefit and know that the Lord is God!
"Though it tarries, wait for it." Habakkuk 2:3
Difficult times will come. In Habakkuk's day the Lord gave visions for him to share and warn people of what was to come - since they wouldn't humble themselves. There was much waiting for Habakkuk. The waiting was a test. It is a true test to our faithfulness to God. Do we believe the vision? Do we trust God is good, right and just?
In our cancer journey there is waiting. And by the grace of God we wait for Him to move, to act, to help us take steps to healing for Laina. It is a true test for us for sure. But as I have been seeking the Lord weeks prior to our knowledge of this terrible disease he shared this with me.
"Don't get caught up in practical busy-work. Watch for the storms of God. The only way God plants His saints is through the whirlwind of His storms." "Live in light of the vision you have seen." "Let God send you out through His storm, and don't go until He does." "Don't choose your own spot to be planted - and prove to be an unproductive, empy pod." "Allow God to plant you and you will bear fruit."
"But the righteous will live by faith." Habakkuk 2:4
"But the LORD is in His holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before Him." Habakkuk 2:20
"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea." Habakkuk 2:14
I take this as the Lord knew we were going to go through this storm and He is leading us. We will live by faith. And it is our hope that many people will know the knowledge of the glory of God through our living out our faith in Christ. Do you know Jesus? Does He speak to you through the scriptures? He is the living word! Whatever you are going through, God listens and cares. This Christmas is not what we intended. But perhaps we can gain more insight of our desparate need for Jesus to come into this world. He is a light in the dark.
Please seek Him in prayer with us as we wait and tarry for Laina's healing.
